Most of these clubs welcome non-members on their rides. You can find a ride almost any day of the year. Often clubs schedule rides outside their geographical area, so even if the club isn’t nearby, it could still have a nearby ride. The Northern California Ride Calendar is a ride clearing house with a convenient directory window of rides upcoming in the next few days. Racing clubs often have fast-paced weekly and scheduled rides oriented toward training. They usually welcome non-members.
